Happy New Year!

We hope that you and your families enjoyed the holidays and we wish you all the best in 2010.

The purpose – of our organization is to improve the quality of life for our clients by providing them with nourishments for both body and mind.We were able to accomplish this and much more through the hard work and dedication of our KMFP Staff and Volunteers and through the ongoing support of all our donors in 2009.

Our organization – is a small operation compared to other charitable organizations within Monmouth County but this does not stop us from doing whatever it takes to ensure that the communities we serve reap from the same benefits as if they visited a larger organization.

We are very proud of what we have accomplished throughout the years and we hope that after you read our 2009 accomplishments you too will agree that our organization is always looking to take that Extra Step to provide the best assistance available to all those that come to us. Of course, none of these accomplishments would have been possible without the ongoing support of our donors who helped us and continue to help us in so many ways.

2009 High Level Accomplishments:
  • 18 – Towns served
  • 2162 – Families served from Jan ‘09 to Dec ‘09 (Note: We served 252 families in October equating to 496 Adults and 400 Children under the age of 18. This is the largest number of families served since the founding of the pantry in 1983)
  • 38 – Food Stamp Preliminary Applications submitted on behalf of applicant
  • 50+ – Referrals for specific assistance (i.e. Veteran benefits, Utilities, Health, Financial, etc.)
  • 50 – Children received school supplies via donations received
  • 120 – Holiday Dinners (Thanksgiving and Christmas) distributed. The food we received came from the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and through many donations.
  • 100+ – Families received children clothes and other items via donations we received
  • 382 – Children sponsored for Christmas gifts through the generosity of many individuals, businesses, churches and organizations
  • Raised $24,514.69 toward our New Building Project

New KMFP Trustee – We would like to welcome Rev. E.J. Emerson to the KMFP Board of Trustees.  Rev. Emerson is the pastor of the Community Church in Keyport and will be an asset to the board.  Community Church is part of the nine (9) original churches that comprise the Ministerium.  Welcome Rev. Emerson!

“Thank You” – to St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church for allowing us to use their hall to distribute the Christmas gifts and holiday dinners, to our Associate Director, Marge Conway for doing such a great job again this year in coordinating the Christmas gifts for the children, to all the KMFP Volunteers that worked so hard along with Marge in distributing the gifts and holiday food on December 22nd and to all the individuals, businesses, churches and organizations that sponsored our client’s children a very special “Thank You” for making Christmas a little merrier and brighter for so many of our pantry children.

To all that have contributed to our building project “Thank You” for your support and donations. Please continue to help us in any way you can – remember “No donation is ever too small and all are deeply and truly appreciated”.

Alan Shawn Feinstein 2010 13th Annual $1 Million Giveaway To Fight Hunger – will divide $1 million among anti hunger agencies nationwide using it as a spur to raise funds during March and April 2010. We would like to inform you at this time that we will be participating again this year. As we get closer to the date we will provide more information, in the meantime for more details about the foundation visit http://www.feinsteinfoundation.org/

Please keep believing and supporting us throughout 2010 so that we may continue to provide our services to the many families that need our assistance now more than ever and to also get a step closer to a new facility. All of us at the KMFP are eternally grateful for all you do for our organization.
