2009 – will be coming to a close soon and all of us at the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry would like to express our deepest gratitude to ALLthe individuals, churches, organizations and businesses for their great support throughout the year.  This was another difficult year for many, including us, but because of the extreme generosity of our donors our doors remained opened. There were weeks throughout the year that we were not certain if we would have enough food for distribution but as we were all thinking how we would manage our next distribution day – lo and behold someone would walk through our doors with food donations.

We could not and cannot do it without YOU – Thank You!

In the month of November 2009, we served 217 families equating to 419 Adults and 316 Children.

Turkey distribution – took place the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Due to the limited amount of turkeys with trimmings that we had it was on a first come – first served basis. Distribution was scheduled for 9:30 AM but our clients were lined up at 8:30 to ensure that they would receive a turkey. We receive a limited number of turkeys from the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties so we were very grateful for the additional donations we received on that day that allowed us to distribute to a total of 62 turkeys with trimmings. Thank you to all the Donors, Marge Conway, KMFP Associate Director and all the KMFP volunteers that helped Marge in the coordination of this effort.

The Christmas Gift Sponsorship – response for our client’s children was a great success. Due to the generosity of so many, 382 children have been sponsored this year. I would like to say “Thank You” to Marge Conway, KMFP Associate Director for doing such a great job again this year in coordinating the Christmas gifts for the children and to all the KMFP Volunteers that will work along with Marge in distributing the gifts on December 22nd“Thank You” to all the individuals, churches, organizations and businesses that sponsored our client’s children and helped in putting a smile on these children’s faces on Christmas Day.

Holiday Food Donations – are welcomed. If you wish to make a donation please contact Marge Conway, KMFP Associate Director Tuesdays, and Thursdays – 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM on (732) 888-1986. Due to our limited freezer space if you would like to donate turkeys, hams, etc. we would ask that you contact us first.

What better time of the year – then now to say Thank You to all the KMFP Volunteers for their time and total dedication and commitment to our organization throughout the year. I am sure that those who know some or all of our volunteers will agree that we would not be able to operate the way we do without each one of them.

Finally, the KMFP Staff and Volunteers would like to wish you and your families a Happy and Safe Holiday Season and a New Year filled with Health, Happiness and Prosperity.  See you in 2010!
