Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Easter!

The response to our  New Building Project 2008 has been great. Please continue to spread the word - You are our voice!

We are participating again in the Allan Shawn Feinstein Hunger Challenge.  The challenge runs from March 1st to April 30th. Your food and/or monetary donations toward this challenge are truly appreciated. Contact Associate Director Marge Conway during our hours of operation if you require any additional information.  For information on the foundation visit: www.feinsteinfoundation.org
KMFP is a member of NJ Anti-Hunger Coalition (NJAHC) sponsored by the Statewide Emergency Food and Anti-Hunger Network (SEFAN).  SEFAN plans to host a series of forums with the intend of creating a dialogue between food stamp administrators on the state and local levels, anti-hunger advocates, concerned citizens, emergency food providers and clients to address barriers to food stamp access for NJ's low-income families and seniors.

They plan to invite local food stamp offices from all 21 counties to the forums and to this end they requested that all NJAHC members gather information for the forums by canvassing their clients and requesting that they complete a food stamp survey (provided by SEFAN). KMFP has been processing preliminary food stamp applications since May of 2005 and felt that we would have valuable input from our clients for the forums. As a member of the NJAHC we plan on attending the forum, which is scheduled for sometime in March. If you or someone you know is interested in applying for food stamps please visit our location during our hours of operation.  REMEMBER – you do not have to be a pantry client.  We encourage all low-income families and seniors to apply.

We have great supporters to our organization that conduct fundraising events throughout the year and we ask that you support them by attending their events.  Upcoming Event (Contact organization representatives for additional information)
  • Keyport Kiwanis – Chicken Fry – March 31st at Town and Country Inn, Keyport

Now for the latest status:

  • Thank you to Chapel Hill Dental Arts and WaWa, both in Red Bank and Holy Family Church in Union Beach for their food donations.

  • We have ordered free informational brochures, which we hope to have on hand sometime in March on Earned Income Credit and Identity Theft for distribution to our clients or for anyone interested.

  • We will be distributing WIC and Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program information to our clients or for anyone interested.  This information was obtained from the State of NJ Department of Health and Senior Services website (2/08).

  • We continue with our Grant Research and Application Process.

There are no words that will ever be able to truly express how grateful we are to have the support of so many therefore; all we can continue to say is Thank You.
