Happy New Year!
We hope that you and your families enjoyed the holidays and wish you all the best in 2008. As our organization looks back at 2007 we realize how much we did accomplished through the hard work and dedication of not only the KMFP Staff and Volunteers but also of our great supporters. Although we were not able to meet our goal of beginning our new building project, since we did not receive the CDBG grant, we will not linger on what could have been but instead move forward with even more strength and hope that 2008 will bring us closer to our dream of a “New Building”.
Sometimes statistics on an organization provides a person with a better perspective; therefore we thought we would share the following data for year ending 2007 with you:
|
-
Number of towns served – 18
-
Number of families served Jan to Dec – 1175
Not only did we provide families with food but we also assisted them with applying for Food Stamps, provided them with referrals to other private and government agencies depending on their need, provided school items, clothing, coats and Christmas gifts (over 195 children were sponsored) through the generosity of different individuals, churches and organizations. We also provided holiday food (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas) through what we received from the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and the many donations. Yes, we are a small entity operating from a small facility but it does not and will not stop us from operating BIG and helping in any way we can.
I would like to say “Thank You” to our Associate Director, Marge Conway for doing such a great job again this year in coordinating the Christmas gifts for the children and to all the KMFP Volunteers that worked so hard along with Marge in distributing the gifts and holiday dinners.

We would also like to inform you at this time that we will be taking part again this year in the Alan Shawn Feinstein 2008 11th Annual $1 Million Giveaway To Fight Hunger. For the eleventh straight year, Alan Shawn Feinstein will divide $1 million among hunger fighting agencies nationwide using it to help them raise funds during March and April 2008.
As we get closer to the date we will provide more information, in the meantime for more details about the foundation visit www.feinsteinfoundation.org.
