Happy 4th of July from all of us at the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry!
We truly hope that you are all having a great summer.
As we celebrate and enjoy the independence of our great country with outdoor festivities and the company of our family and friends always remember the true meaning of Independence Day. Many men and women have fought and a great number of them continue to fight so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today. Support our troops all over the world and hope for their safe return home to their families and friends.
Our latest status:
- Our first 50/50 Raffle was very successful. We posted the winner’s name on our website in June on the Home Page but in case you missed it the lucky winner was Bonnie from Howell Township - $2,070.00.
- We have submitted our application for the 2008 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and will be presenting to the CDBG panel in early August.
- We continue our discussions with the Keyport Board of Education and others for the potential site of our new facility.
- We continue with the research and submission of grant applications.
- An article on the KMFP was submitted by Maria Connors for publication in the Summer Union Beach Residents Newsletter. We would like to say “Thank You” to Mr. Luminoso for publishing the article. To view visit www.unionbeach.net
- As you all know we participated in the 2007 Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation Challenge. We will be receiving a modest grant and hope that next year we can raise more money to be able to receive a larger amount. “Thank You” to the Feinstein Foundation for awarding us this grant and an extra big “Thank You” to all our donors for making it possible for us to participate in this challenge. For 2007 Challenge results visit feinsteinfoundation.org.
- Donations toward our new building continue to come in.
If you have any questions, comments, etc. please feel free to contact us via email or call us. As always the KMFP Staff and Volunteers are very grateful for your continued support.
