November 11th is Veteran’s Day – Take time to remember and say thank you to all the brave men and women that have fought and are currently fighting to keep our country free.  Also, remember the families of all these fine men and women.  They also need to be commended.  From all of us at the KMFP - Thank you to all our Veterans and to all who are currently serving.

Happy Thanksgiving!  What a wonderful holiday to gather around with your family and friends.  Unfortunately, there are so many that will not be able to enjoy this holiday like most of us.  As you buy your holiday trimmings maybe you can find it in your hearts to get an extra non-perishable food item and donate it to us for distribution to our clients.

We have quite a number of singles and two (2) adult clients so a small turkey breast or small ham with a few small cans of vegetables or other non-perishable items would be great for us to distribute to them.  Please contact Marge Conway, KMFP Associate Director at the pantry during our hours of operation if you wish to provide a donation. Due to our limited freezer space if you would like to donate turkeys, hams, etc. we would ask that you contact us first

We would like to inform all our readers that every year during the month of October we signed up our client’s children to receive Christmas gifts through St. John’s United Methodist Church in Hazlet.  Please help us make this Christmas a little brighter by sponsoring some of our client’s children.  For more information on how you can be a Sponsor, please contact St. John’s at (732) 264-1236 and inform them that you would like to be a Christmas Sponsor for children from the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry and they will explain the process.

Our latest status:

  • We are proud owners of three (3) PCs’, which were donated to us by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) via their donation process.  We would like to publicly thank Tim Walsh, USDA Community Relations Liaison and Margarita Maisterrena, USDA Public Affairs Director for their assistance and guidance through the process, as well as delivering and setting up the PCs.

  • Thank you to Councilwoman Christian Bolte, Sandra Shevlin – KMFP Trustees Treasurer, John Wysocki – KMFP Volunteer and Marge Conway – KMFP Associate Director for all their help in the selling of the 50/50 Raffle to benefit our building fund at the Keyport Country Jamboree held on October 13th.
  • We would like to thank all the people that made it possible for us to benefit from the following food drives:  Crop Walk (Red Bank), Keyport Mothers Against Hunger and the Keyport Senior Citizens.  A special “Thank You” to the above mentioned organizations for all their hard work and making us part of their cause.
  • As of November 1, 2007, we have not yet received feedback on our Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application but hope to do so soon.
  • We continue our research on Federal, State, and Local grants that are available and submit applications whenever we meet the criteria.
  • We continue to receive donations toward our new building fund.  We ask that you continue to help us if you can possibly do so.  Remember - no donation is too small.

If you have any questions, comments, etc. please feel free to contact us via email or call us. The KMFP Staff and Volunteers are eternally grateful for all your assistance and continued support.

Thank you!
