Happy Mother’s Day and Let us not forget our Veterans on Memorial Day.

I open our message this month by saying that we experienced a great loss last month with the passing of the founder of the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry, Mr. John Reed on April 23, 2006.  He was a great man and will be truly missed by all that knew him.  Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife Vera and his daughter Donna.  You may read more about Mr. Reed’s works and accomplishments by accessing these links - See article posted by the Asbury Park Press on 04/25/06  and also O.O. John Reed

Mother’s Day – let us remember all the moms of the world who have so unselfishly given of themselves so that their children may have a life filled with Respect, Love and Happiness.     They are there in our troubling times, happy times and bottom line they are always there for us.  Some of us no longer have our mothers with us but on this day take a few moments to reflect on all she did for you to be what you are today.  For those of you that are still lucky to have their mothers with them give her a big hug and say “Thank You”.  A very Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms from KMFP Staff and Volunteers.

Memorial Day – let us honor and remember all our Veterans. We must never forget the sacrifices that were endured by our Veterans and their families.  These men and women served our great country so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy today and we owe them our respect and gratitude.  We have men and women currently serving throughout the world so that we can continue to live in a free world.  Let us always remember to support our troops around the world and hope for their safe return back home. On behalf of the KMFP Staff and Volunteers we would like to say Thank You to all our past and current Veterans and to all that are currently serving our country.

Our latest status:

  1. A resolution was passed by the Township of Keyport in support of our quest for the 2006 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
  2. We continue to work with the Township of Keyport for the land we require for our permanent location.
  3. We continue with the submission of grant applications.
  4. We continue to receive donations toward our new building campaign.

If you have any questions, comments, etc. please feel free to contact us via email or call us.  The KMFP Staff and Volunteers thank you for your continued support.
